Café Andaluz’s inhabits a huge space on fashionable George Street.
What you’ll eat here is Spanish-style food produced for British tastes, with a sizeable menu featuring tapas, sharing plates, paellas and a good value menu del dia.
The food hints towards a shortcut kitchen, with some items giving the impression of being pre-prepared rather than freshly made, but it’s all hearty and pleasing and.
Café Andaluz is on to a crowd-pleasing formula and while it has a slight theme-parky feel, the whole experience is fun, filling and reasonable value.

Small, tastefully decorated bistro with extensive menu of good quality pan-Mediterranean mezze and grilled meat and seafood dishes.
Located in the upper reaches of the tourist drag that is Rose St, entering Zara’s feels a bit like finding an oasis in the desert.
The menu just about manages to straddle Mediterranean mezze dining and Scottish bistro styles.
While the menu may not stray too far from the tried and tested, Zara’s certainly delivers tasty, satisfying food in a pleasant, central location.
Well-priced early dining and lunch options, along with outdoor seating, mean that Zara’s should appeal to late-night and weekend shoppers as well as just the tourist market.

John Kirkby - The Sun Manager, Brendon and Head Chef Kenny served up some tasty treats Billed as ‘A Taste of Scotland’, it was basically an Irn-Bru ice cream float topped with deep-fried Mars bar and chunks of homemade tablet.

The homemade, baked tortilla chips were a classy, surprise touch (it’s usually a half-bag of Doritos from the nearest supermarket) and the chef hadn’t skimped on the melting cheese, salsa, sour cream and Kirkby - The Sun also tucked in to the chicken bon bons However, I must recommend the Panko-breaded chicken bon bons.
I’m guessing he’d been Kirkby - The Sun Georgian Hotel scored 24/30 in Tam’s review From the easy-to-read menu (it’s all on one big card and split into starters, platters, salads, grill, burgers, classics and desserts) we ordered three cracking main courses.
