This sexy wee number is made from Bacardi Superior, Mahiki Rum, Sailor Jerry Rum, fresh watermelon, Martini Rosso vermouth, Martini bitter with raspberry and sugar.
It’s light and fresh and you can build the perfect mouthful of torn mozzarella, caramelised pickled shallot, tomato, basil, lettuce and then the soft, sweet, fleshy, warm peaches.
There was a slight mix up here as our waitress thought we had ordered the Asparagus starter, so Coal-Fired Asparagus with Poached Duck Egg and Hay Hollandaise was delivered to our table instead of the Chargrilled Asparagus, Broad Bean, Pea and Tomato in a black pepper crusty tart with a Smoked Arran Cheddar Cheese Sauce (sounds delicious right?!)
It was cocktail time again and we went for the Blackstrap ‘n Buck which is Chairman’s Spiced Rum, Mount Gay Black Barrel, Appleton Estate Signature, Pomegranate molasses, lime, pineapple and ginger beer.
And just because we still had room in our dessert belly, we opted for the Sugared Mini Doughnuts with raspberry and salted caramel dipping sauces (stop drooling!)

Over the last couple of months we have been really getting into our weekend brunches in the city and the latest place we tried out for a long lunch is Rabble Taphouse and Grill, which was formerly Ricks bar on Fredrick Street.
Ricks bar was broken up into little individual spaces ideal for hiding away, but Rabble has turned this on it head with a large open plan space with island bar in the middle, cosy diner booths dotted around and turquoise banquettes and a glass-roofed backroom which can be cleverly separated for parties.
From long fruity cocktails to short drams and a large range of highball drinks, it’s the ideal place to have a boozy lunch, dinner, right through to that ‘night cap’ on the way home.
The burger is cooked on the charcoal grill and comes in a toasted brioche bun with smoked cheddar rarebit, candied bacon, beer-braised onion & mustard seed relish, triple cooked chips.
My dining partner had the Marinated Salmon cooked on cedar wood with red pepper & oregano and on the side crushed potatoes & chorizo crisps.

'Rough luxe' uptown bar-brasserie attracting style-conscious office workers and party-goers with cocktails, beer from copper tanks and low, slow grills.
After 17 years, the Montpeliers group have retired the once style-setting Ricks.
Now relaunched as Rabble (as in lively crowd, not angry mob), Edinburgh’s first ‘rough-luxe’ low and slow taphouse and grill is already pulling in the aforesaid crowds for post-work or pre-night-on-George Street cocktails and unpasteurised beer poured from copper tanks.
The redesign has opened up Ricks’ discreet ‘rooms’ into a see-and-be-seen space of island bar, brass and plywood, diner booths, turquoise banquettes and a bare brick, glass-roofed backroom, with foliage throughout.
Some dishes don’t quite live up to the descriptions on the menu and a few teething issues show, but Rabble is already turning that lively crowd into loyal regulars.
